Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu Celebrates the Great Victory Day


16 December 2023, Kathmandu, Nepal: Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu celebrated the Great Victory Day with festivity. The day began with the hoisting of the National Flag in the Embassy premises. A special prayer was offered for the salvation of the departed souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his martyred family members, all the valiant freedom fighters and martyrs of the glorious war of liberation. In the discussion session organized on the significance of the day, messages given by the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs were read out and a documentary was screened.

During the discussion, the participants paid deep respect to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and discussed various aspects of the glorious war of liberation.

 

Secretary General of SAARC, Ambassador Md. Golam Sarwar, in his remarks, said that Bangladesh is developing at a very fast pace which is the result of the Bangabandhu’s dream of Sonar Bangla and the strong leadership of his able daughter Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

 

In his remarks, Ambassador Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury paid deep respect to Bangabandhu and all the martyrs of the Liberation War. Ambassador respectfully recalled Bangabandhu's visionary and charismatic leadership in the creation of independent Bangladesh and said that everyone should work from their respective positions towards the realization of Sonar Bangla as dreamt by our Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

 

Embassy officials and their families, Bangladeshi officials working in the SAARC Secretariat and other organizations in Nepal and their families and members of the Bangladesh community in Nepal participated in the event.
