Election 2024/2

Update on voting through postal ballots

According to the Article 27 of the Representation of the People Order, 1972, voters can apply for postal ballot papers to the Returning Officer in any manner. But the Returning Officer would send the ballots to voters through postal service (i.e., Returning Officer will directly send postal ballot to the applicant's current address by post) .

After casting the vote, the voters will have to send back the ballot to the Returning Officer through postal service.

Therefore, interested voters abroad can apply to the Returning Officer on a white paper informing his/her details (Bangladeshi address and NID number) as well as his/her present address (e.g., his/her current place of residence abroad). The postal ballot will be posted to the present address by the Returning Officer.

Please note that NID number must be mentioned in the application to identify the interested voter in the voters roll.

The list of Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers is enclosed.
