  2. Machinery and Equipment: Bangladesh imports various machinery and equipment for industrial purposes, including machinery for the textile and garment industry, construction equipment, and industrial machinery.
  3. Electrical and Electronics: Imported electrical and electronic products, such as appliances, consumer electronics, and components, are in high demand.
  4. Chemicals: Chemical products, including fertilizers, industrial chemicals, and pharmaceutical raw materials, are imported to support various industries.
  5. Iron and Steel: Raw materials like iron and steel are imported for construction and manufacturing purposes.
  6. Food Products: Some food items, including edible oils, wheat, rice, and pulses, are imported to meet domestic demand.
  7. Plastics and Plastic Products: Raw materials for the plastics industry, as well as finished plastic products, are imported.
  8. Vehicles: Motor vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles, are imported to meet domestic transportation needs.
  9. Mineral Fuels and Oils: Apart from petroleum products, natural gas and other mineral fuels are also imported to support energy production.
  10. Textile Raw Materials: Although Bangladesh is a major textile and apparel exporter, it also imports textile raw materials like cotton and yarn when domestic supplies are insufficient.
  11. Metals and Metal Products: Various metal products, including aluminium and copper, are imported for industrial use.
  12. Wood and Wood Products: Timber and wood products are imported for construction and furniture manufacturing.
  13. Medicines and Pharmaceuticals: While Bangladesh has a growing pharmaceutical industry, it still imports certain pharmaceutical raw materials and finished medicines.
  14. Luxury Goods: High-end luxury items such as designer clothing, jewellery, and electronics are imported to cater to a niche market.
