Bangladesh and Nepal enjoy the best of bilateral relations. Geographical proximity, historical linkages and cultural-religious-linguistic commonalities have helped in bringing the two countries closer.

At the political level, the relations are extremely cordial. In March 2021, the Rt. Hon’ble President of Nepal visited Bangladesh to attend the Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman. Earlier in 2019, the Hon’ble President Bangladesh had also visited Nepal.

The Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh visited Kathmandu to attend the 17th SAARC Summit in November 2014 and the 4th BIMSTEC Summit in August 2018. During both the visits, she had bilateral meetings with the then Prime Ministers - Late Sushil Koirala and Mr. K. P. Sharma Oli – respectively. Over the last one decade, she had several meetings with her Nepalese counterparts in the sidelines of various multi-lateral forums like NAM, SAARC, BIMSTEC, UNGA, Afro-Asian Summit, etc.

Within the domain of existing warmth and cordiality, we are looking forward to expanding scopes for enhanced trade and investment as well as people to people connect for mutual benefit of the people of the two countries.
