The Embassy of Bangladesh in Kathmandu association with the Chamber of Industries of Morang (CIM) organized a networking event at the Hotel Ratna in Biratnagar on 19 December in honor of the participants of ongoing Birat Expo 22 as a part of its outreach program to connect the business communities of Eastern Nepal and Northern Bangladesh. A large number of participants including Bangladeshi businessmen as well as politicians, govt officials and leaders of business community of Eastern Nepal were present in the event.
The guests were welcomed by Mr. Suyesh Pyakurel, President, Chamber of Industries, Morang. Two technical presentations on business opportunities, challenges and way forward were made by First Secretary (Trade Promotion) of the Embassy Mr. Humayun Kabir and Mr. Paras Luniya of CIM. Ambassador Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury thanked the guests and called upon the business communities to explore scopes for increasing trade in order to absorb the multiple shocks in the new economic world order. President of Nepal Bangladesh Friendship Society of Eastern Nepal Dr. Khalid Hussain Haq also spoke on the occasion. The event was also attended by Deputy Chief of Mission Ms. Ishrat Jahan.
