The Embassy of Bangladesh in Kathmandu celebrated the 92nd Birth Anniversary of Bangamata Fazilatun Nessa Mujib, wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on 08 August 2022 in a befitting manner. The programme began with the laying floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangamata Fazilatun Nessa Mujib at the Chancery premises by Ambassador Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury in presence of officials of the Embassy and members of the Bangladesh community. Special prayers were offered for the salvation of the departed soul of Bangabandhu, Bangamata Fazilatun Nessa Mujib their martyred family members and for valiant freedom fighters who made supreme sacrifice for the country during the glorious War of Liberation in 1971 as well as for the peace and prosperity of the country.
In the discussion session organized on the significance of the day, messages given by the President and Prime Minister were read out and a documentary on the life and sacrifice of Bangamata Fazilatun Nessa Mujib was screened. The discussants paid deep tribute to Bangamata Fazilatun Nessa Mujib and recalled her sacrifices and contributions as the fearless companion of Bangabandhu in the crisis and struggles and as the source of strength and courage for Bangabandhu throughout his struggle for independence and also in War of Liberation. They highlighted that Bangamata is a source of inspiration for the nation.
