Glorious Victory Day is celebrated in Kathmandu

 

16 December 2022, Kathmandu: Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu celebrated the 51st Anniversary of the Glorious Victory Day with due solemnity and festivity. In the morning, the day began with the hoisting of the National Flag in the Embassy premises by Ambassador Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury in presence of officials of the Embassy and members of the Bangladesh community with their family members. A special prayer was conducted for the salvation of the departed souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his martyred family members, all the valiant freedom fighters and martyrs of the glorious war of liberation. Messages given by President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs were read out and a documentary was screened.

 

In the discussion session organized on the significance of the day, the speakers highlighted the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his lifelong struggle in achieving our independence. Paying rich tribute to the memory of Bangabandhu, Ambassador Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury said that the Father of the Nation dreamt for a happy, prosperous golden Bengal free of discrimination. His able daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina  is now relentlessly working to materialising her Father’s dream. The Ambassador also called upon all to encourage the new generation to carry forward the dreams of the Father of the Nation to work unitedly in building a prosperous country.
